Architect Adam is the hot, eligible playboy in town. He’s known for having new eye candy on his arm at each event he attends – and he’s definitely not looking for anything serious. But it isn’t until he meets gorgeous and successful wedding planner Kerry that he understands what he’s missing in a long term relationship.
Sounds like a move starring Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey, right? Let me throw something else into the mix — add in the flavor from 50 Shades of Grey, and you’ve got yourself a more compelling and worthwhile read.
Fans of E.L. James’ work might really enjoy this story. It’s got all of the juiciest bits, (without actually saying any of the words necessary; the meaning is still conveyed through descriptors like “shattered” and “pulsating”) and none of the controversial BDSM. It could be described as watered down since the characters are consenting to a friends-with-benefits situation at first, but the description in the majority of the chapters provides enough heat to satisfy any casual reader. Think of it as potato chip lit.
It’s an extremely quick read – the plot doesn’t create any hard-to-understand concepts, but it’s got enough side stories for entertainment purposes. Ultimately, the story is about finding love through sex, and the two people who don’t believe they will ever obtain it. For roughly, $5 this is a worthwhile addition to most soft romance collections.
